Pink – Beautiful Trauma

Pink – Beautiful Trauma Mp3 Download

Pink rolled out the title track of her 7th LP, Beautiful Trauma, earlier today (September 21) and I feel like I’ve heard it all before.

The pop/rocker has been singing about finding light in the darkness (and using many of the same metaphors) since Missundaztood.

And I’m usually fine with that — as long as it’s accompanied by catchy hooks and a killer chorus.

Those qualities are missing, however, from the 38-year-old’s latest anthem. Instead, we’re treated to rock-star cliches and perfectly acceptable album filler.

“The pill I keep taking, the nightmare I’m waking,” she sings on the non-chorus. “There’s nothing, no nothing, nothing but you — my perfect rock bottom, my beautiful trauma.”

After leaving her comfort zone on the almost-great “What About Us,” this feels like a step backwards.

“I wrote the song with a very awesome person Jack Antonoff and named the album after it b/c life is fucking traumatic,” Pink explained on Twitter. “But it’s also incredibly beautiful, too. There’s a lot of beauty still and beautiful souls.”

I’m still excited for the album (Pink hasn’t delivered a dud yet), but I will feel better when I hear the song that stands toe-to-toe with classics like “Don’t Let Me Get Me,” “Who Knew,” “Try” and “Just Give Me A Reason.”
